By downloading, installing, or using the Pill Caller application ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement to create an account.
Pill Caller is a reminder and communication tool. It places scheduled telephone calls to a phone number you provide, reads back a script you have reviewed and approved in a synthetic voice or a voice you recorded yourself, and reports back whether the call was answered, optionally confirmed by keypad entry, or reached voicemail. The Service does not require the reminder recipient to install any software.
The Service does not prescribe, dispense, administer, or verify the contents of any medication. It does not confirm that a correct medication or dosage was actually taken, only that a phone call was placed and, where you have chosen to enable optional keypad confirmation, that a key was pressed. The Service does not provide medical, pharmacological, or clinical advice, and does not replace a physician, pharmacist, nurse, home health aide, or family caregiver. The Service is not a medical-alert, emergency-response, or fall-detection system. In an emergency, always contact 911 or your local emergency number. Pressing "1" on a call records only that an optional keypad confirmation was entered; it is not proof of ingestion, dosage accuracy, or wellbeing.
You represent and warrant that: (a) you have the right to provide the recipient's telephone number and either the recipient has agreed to receive automated reminder calls or you hold legal authority to consent on their behalf; (b) all information you enter, including medication names, dosage instructions, schedules, and other reminder content, is accurate to the best of your knowledge and matches the applicable prescription label or clinician's directions; (c) you will promptly review and update reminders when instructions change; and (d) you understand that being a relative of the recipient does not, by itself, establish legal authority to consent on their behalf. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for verifying medication details against the original packaging, your pharmacist, or your clinician.
Where possible, Pill Caller will attempt to obtain the recipient's direct consent through a one-time activation call before recurring reminders begin. A recipient may withdraw consent at any time, including verbally during any call, after which future automated calls to that number will be suppressed. If a recipient cannot provide direct consent, the configuring user must complete an authorized-representative attestation, including their relationship to the recipient and the basis of their authority to consent.
Suggested call scripts may be drafted with the assistance of automated tools based on the information you enter. No script is used on a call until you have reviewed, optionally edited, and explicitly approved it. You are responsible for reviewing each script for accuracy before approval. Automated drafting will not introduce medication names, dosages, or medical instructions that you did not provide. If you choose to record your own voice for use on calls, you represent that you have the right to provide that recording and consent to its use for the reminders you configure.
Pill Caller offers a seven-day free trial with full feature access, up to six outbound calls per day and up to eight connected minutes per call, matching our top subscription tier. Standard includes one reminder recipient, and Plus includes up to three different recipients. Paid plans (Standard and Plus) are billed monthly in advance through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable, and automatically renew until cancelled. Plus subscribers may add extra recipients beyond the included three for an additional $15 per month per recipient, each with up to three outbound calls per day and up to eight connected minutes per call; add-on recipients are billed and renew on the same schedule as your Plus subscription. Unless you cancel before the end of your free trial, and where you have provided the required billing authorization at signup, your trial will automatically convert to your selected paid plan and your payment method will be charged the then-current price. You may cancel automatic renewal at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period, and access continues through the end of the period you already paid for, except where applicable law or store policy requires otherwise. Prices are subject to change with advance notice. Each subscription tier includes a maximum number of outbound call attempts per recipient per day and a maximum connected call duration, as described on this page and inside the application; these limits are enforced automatically and calls may be delayed or blocked once a plan's daily allowance is reached.
Subscription status is verified using Apple's and Google's server-side purchase verification services. If you reinstall the application or change devices, use the "Restore Purchases" option to reinstate an active subscription. We are not responsible for interruptions in service caused by delays in store-side purchase verification.
If a call is not answered by a person, the Service may leave a brief voicemail message and will disconnect promptly rather than remain connected. Voicemail messages do not include medication names, dosages, or other sensitive details unless you have separately and explicitly enabled that option, and doing so means other people with access to that voicemail box may hear that information. A voicemail is never treated as a confirmed reminder. Depending on your settings and remaining plan allowance, one optional follow-up call may be placed after an unconfirmed attempt.
Calls may fail or be delayed due to carrier issues, network conditions, device availability, recipient phone settings, power outages, or other circumstances outside our control. We do not guarantee that any call will be successfully delivered, answered, or confirmed. We reserve the right to suspend or pause outbound calling, including through an emergency global pause, to investigate abuse, unusual usage patterns, or technical issues.
We collect the information you provide about yourself and your reminder recipients solely to operate the Service. Sensitive information, including medication details, health-related reminder content, and any voice recording you provide, is encrypted in transit and at rest and is not sold, and is not used for advertising purposes. You may request export or deletion of your data, subject to limited retention periods required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy. The Service is not currently represented as HIPAA-compliant.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY MISSED, DELAYED, OR UNCONFIRMED REMINDER, OR FOR ANY HEALTH OUTCOME RELATED TO A REMINDER RECIPIENT'S USE OR NON-USE OF MEDICATION. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE SERVICE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR DIRECT CAREGIVING, CLINICAL SUPERVISION, OR EMERGENCY SERVICES.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be presented to you for review before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those terms.
Questions about these terms, billing, or your data can be directed to the support contact listed inside the application.
This summary is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice. Final Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and consent language should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before public launch.
To operate Pill Caller, we collect the account information you provide (such as your name and contact details), the information you enter about each reminder recipient (such as a name, relationship, and phone number), the content of the reminders you configure (such as medication names, schedules, and call scripts), and, if you choose to record one, a voice recording for use on calls. We also collect basic call activity, including whether a call was delivered, answered, confirmed, or reached voicemail.
We use this information only to schedule and place the reminder calls you configure, to notify you of call outcomes, to operate free trials and paid subscriptions, to provide customer support, and to maintain the security and reliability of the Service. We do not use your reminder content, recordings, or recipient information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
Medication names, health-related reminder content, and any voice recording you provide are treated as sensitive information. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to what is needed to operate the Service, and they are never used to build advertising profiles. The Service is not currently represented as HIPAA-compliant, so please avoid entering more detailed clinical information than a reminder requires.
We share information with service providers who help us place calls, process payments, and operate our infrastructure, solely so they can perform those functions for us. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or in connection with a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for a limited period afterward as needed for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. You may request export or deletion of your data at any time through the app or by contacting support; some information may be retained longer where required by law.
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect the information you provide. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Pill Caller accounts may only be created by adults 18 or older. Reminder recipients are often older adults, but the Service is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect account information from, children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be presented to you for review before they take effect.
Questions about this Privacy Policy or your data can be directed to our support team using the contact details in the Contact Us section.
This summary is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice. A final Privacy Policy should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before public launch.
Where possible, Pill Caller places a one-time activation call to the reminder recipient before recurring reminders begin, so they can hear about the Service directly and agree to receive calls. A recipient may withdraw consent at any time, including verbally during any call, after which future automated calls to that number are suppressed.
If a recipient is unable to provide direct consent, for example due to a cognitive or health condition, the configuring user must complete an authorized-representative attestation confirming their relationship to the recipient and the basis of their authority to consent on that person's behalf. Being a relative does not, by itself, establish legal authority to consent.
Pill Caller is a reminder and communication tool. It does not prescribe, dispense, administer, or verify medication, and it does not confirm that a dose was actually taken correctly, or at all, even when keypad confirmation is enabled.
Pill Caller is not a medical-alert, emergency-response, or fall-detection system, and calls may be delayed or fail due to factors outside our control. In a medical emergency, always contact 911 or your local emergency number rather than relying on Pill Caller.
When enabled, pressing 1 on a call records only that an optional keypad confirmation was entered. It is not proof that medication was taken, taken correctly, or taken at all, and it should not be relied on as a wellbeing check.
Call scripts may be drafted with the help of automated tools based on the details you enter. No script is used on a call until you have reviewed, optionally edited, and explicitly approved it.
If you choose to record your own voice for use on calls, you confirm that you have the right to provide that recording and consent to its use for the reminders you configure. Recordings are used only to place the calls you schedule.

For billing questions on a Standard or Plus subscription, your Apple ID or Google Play account settings are the fastest way to review or cancel a plan.
Pill Caller support cannot receive emergency calls or messages through this channel. In a medical emergency, always call 911 or your local emergency number.
