Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

To operate Pill Caller, we collect the account information you provide (such as your name and contact details), the information you enter about each reminder recipient (such as a name, relationship, and phone number), the content of the reminders you configure (such as medication names, schedules, and call scripts), and, if you choose to record one, a voice recording for use on calls. We also collect basic call activity, including whether a call was delivered, answered, confirmed, or reached voicemail, and every keypad button a recipient presses during a call, not just their last one.

If you invite a caregiver, we collect that caregiver's email address so we can send them an invite.

2. How we use your information

We use this information only to schedule and place the reminder calls you configure, to notify you of call outcomes, to operate free trials and paid subscriptions, to provide customer support, to send caregiver invitations, and to maintain the security and reliability of the Service. We do not use your reminder content, recordings, or recipient information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.

3. Voice recordings and sensitive reminder content

Medication names, health-related reminder content, keypad responses, and any voice recording you provide are treated as sensitive information. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to what is needed to operate the Service, and they are never used to build advertising profiles. The Service is not currently represented as HIPAA-compliant, so please avoid entering more detailed clinical information than a reminder requires.

4. Caregiver invitations

When an account owner invites a caregiver, we email that person a one-time link, valid for 7 days, so they can set their own password directly. There is no temporary password to share. We send these invitation emails through SendGrid. If the link expires before the caregiver uses it, the account owner can send a new one.

5. Sharing your information

We share information with the following service providers, solely so they can perform these functions for us:

• Fly.io — application hosting, in the United States (Chicago)
• Supabase — database
• Twilio — placing calls and sending texts, including Amazon Polly voices delivered through Twilio
• SendGrid — sending email, including caregiver invitations
• Apple and Google — processing subscription payments

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or in connection with a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for a limited period afterward as needed for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. You can export your data at any time from Settings › Your data › Export; the account owner can export the whole account, and caregivers can export their own data. You can remove a single reminder recipient and all of their information from within the app, or delete your entire account from Settings › Your data › Delete account; account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, and does not automatically cancel an active Apple or Google Play subscription, which must be cancelled separately. A limited set of records, such as billing amounts and whether a phone number has already used a free trial, may be retained even after deletion; we do not retain medication details as part of that limited record-keeping. Some information may also be retained longer where required by law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect the information you provide. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Pill Caller accounts may only be created by adults 18 or older. Reminder recipients are often older adults, but the Service is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect account information from, children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be presented to you for review before they take effect.
